Occupations reserved for Thai nationals
The categories of work that a foreign national may not perform in Thailand at all, or may perform only on stated conditions, fixed by instruments made under the Emergency Decree and revised from time to time.
IN PRACTICE
What it means in practice
The list has been revised and narrowed more than once, and some occupations have moved from an outright prohibition to a conditional permission, so it cannot be answered from memory — the instrument in force on the day is what governs. The real exposure is rarely the job title written on the permit but the work actually done each day, because an officer looks at the substance. The common failure is a permit issued for a permitted role while the person in fact performs reserved work.
